The unsung heroes – Police, Firefighters, EMS, Teachers, Military Personnel and Veterans – these are public servants who continually give of themselves for the betterment of others. When Paige Mayercik of Realty Title and Escrow Company, Inc. and wife to a local police officer began to consider how she and other professionals in the community could give back to those who give so much, the idea of Homes For Our Public Servants (HOPS4COPS) was born.

With the concern of the rise and fall of the residential housing market, many first time homebuyers are skeptical. This is the time to make the opportunity to educate buyers of ways to make their lives better by purchasing a home instead of leasing a residence. Paige states, “My life has been influenced by 911 and the unsung heroes of our community today. As the wife of a police officer you experience some things first hand by seeing the danger that they face on a daily basis. This empowered my desire to research other fields of public service like Firefighters, Teachers and EMT’s, Military Personnel and Veterans that often go unrecognized for their valiant efforts. Hence, my dream of the HOPS4COPS program became a reality.”

HOPS4COPS is owned by Paige Mayercik and offered as an additional service under Realty Title and Escrow Company, Inc. Paige says, “We’ve bundled together everything a first time buyer needs to buy a home and discounted it including services from builders, Realtors®, lenders, home inspectors, pest inspectors and the title company.” Paige, with friend Ken Boshardy, developed HOPS4COPS to provide public servants with better opportunities to purchase a first home. “My focus is on public servants because they give so much to us, and almost anyone can buy a home with the right direction,” she says.

Captain Preble A. Acton of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office says, “There are not too many companies willing to give public service employees an opportunity such as this. I am familiar with what a nightmare the closing process can be. Paige Mayercik of Realty Title and Escrow Company, Inc. was a refreshing change. There were no last minute reschedules, unexpected fees, or lost documents. The transaction was seamless. Paige is professional and takes the time to ensure you understand the significance and meaning of each document you sign. You will leave your closing knowing what to expect and confident that she will always be available for you after closing. I urge all public service employees to take advantage of this opportunity this organization has to offer. “

Paige is a native Tennessean with strong roots in the real estate and title insurance industry whose passion has always been to affect the lives of others by improving their quality of living. She says, “My father, Bill Cannon of Barge, Waggoner, Sumner & Cannon, has always plodded forward for the improvement of small towns and communities; I want to follow in his footsteps.” Paige’s father has been Paige’s inspiration as he always stressed his love for Urban Renewal projects early in the 1960’s.

Her dreams were further fueled by her experience at the 1982 World’s Fair where Paige was able to work briefly with dignitaries from all over the world, learning about how other societies progressed technologically, their inner community ways of life, homes and development of governments. Her passion was to someday become someone who could affect the lives of others to improve their quality of living whether by purchasing a home or creating projects for the needy.

At Realty Title and Escrow Company, Inc., Paige provides title insurance through their local underwriters and real estate closing services, working to make the stressful closing experience go smoothly. “Public service is the key. Always be aware of the needs of your community,” she says. Paige credits Ken Boshardy of KenBosh.com for helping to make HOPS4COPS a success saying, “Ken has been supportive of everything, always backing me up.”
